Discussion The Ashlands nearly made me quit and I think that's a compliment now

Charred Marksmen sniping me across the lava (90 pierce a bow shot, and they VOLLEY), the ground literally trying to kill me, Fader (25,000 health) waiting at the end. I raged so hard the first week. But coming out the other side with Flametal gear, it might be the best-feeling progression in the game? Or I have Stockholm syndrome. @SwampSlogger dragged me through it with tough love, so, both.

AshlandsAndy - the Ashlands are fine. I'm fine. everything's fine.

It's not Stockholm syndrome, it's the biome working as intended. The Ashlands is supposed to feel like a war of attrition and then the Flametal payoff lands. You earned that gear the correct, miserable way. Proud of you, mostly.

SwampSlogger - the swamp doesn't care about your feelings and neither do I (bring poison res)

The Charred Marksman volley is the single most disrespectful thing in the game and I will not be taking questions. Congrats on getting through, the gear tier is genuinely worth the suffering.

Filing this away for when I inevitably get to the Ashlands and immediately regret it. Nice to know the misery has a payoff at the end.
