Discussion Stitcher vs Canto -- which one?

Been running the Stitcher (Common SMG) but everyone keeps pushing the Canto (Rare SMG). For those who've used both -- which actually wins, and in what situation?

i have three Stitchers and the emotional maturity to keep all of them. good luck though.
