Guide Weak point on the Hornet?

Trying to be efficient about the Hornet. Its listed weakness is Rear thrusters and its threat/profile is High threat, Light armor, weak: Rear thrusters. Is focusing the weak point the whole fight or is there positioning I'm missing?
