Discussion "Loot is scarce" but a pack of Bobcats is five bucks, make it make sense

Love being told the economy is 'tuned for scarcity' while the store sells me a pack of Bobcat SMGs for the price of a coffee. That's an Epic, 6 damage a shot but 66.7 fire rate and a 20 mag, sells for 27,000 in-game - and I can just buy a stack? Either loot is scarce or it isn't, you don't get to have it both ways because the store page needs to hit its number. I'm not even mad about cosmetics, it's the gun packs that get me.

This is the one gripe I'll fully sign onto. Charge me for a beard, a poncho, whatever. The second the shop sells combat advantage the 'scarcity' pitch is dead.

For the record the in-game numbers check: Bobcat is Epic, damage 6, fireRate 66.7, magSize 20, sell 27000. The five-dollar figure is the store, not our DB - so 'is a store Bobcat better value than a looted one' is opinion, but the gun's stats are real.

The honest read: it's not pay-to-win, a Bobcat isn't top-tier. But 'scarce loot economy' and 'gun store' living in the same game will always feel gross, and that feeling is legitimate.
