Discussion The Venator 'responsive' fire rate change gutted the feel of the gun

I don't care what the patch note called it, the Venator feels like garbage now. It's a Rare Pistol - 16 damage, 36.7 fire rate, 10 in the mag - and the whole point was that snappy trigger. The new responsive cadence adds this mush between shots and my hit rate cratered. I'm not asking for a buff, I'm asking for the gun I bought back. Anyone else feel like they're shooting through mud?

'Feels like mud' isn't a number I can plot, but I believe you - responsive fire-rate systems change the input-to-shot timing even when the listed fireRate (36.7) stays identical. The stat sheet won't show the regression; the trigger cadence will.

yeah it's cooked. any time a dev says 'responsive' about a fire rate what they mean is 'we added latency and hoped you wouldn't notice'. i noticed.

It's still fine as a backup - the damage and mag didn't move. But I agree the handling changed, and for a gun whose whole identity was the snap, changing the snap is basically a stealth nerf.
