Guide Worth running the 1911 or is it a trap?

Been eyeing the 1911 (Handgun). Is it actually worth building/running or is it one of those things that looks good on paper and disappoints in the field? Convince me either way.

This is the stuff that actually keeps your gear. Aim and reflexes are downstream of good decisions.

Respectfully the 1911 is more situational than this makes out. Good thread though.
