Question M15 Mod 0 -- worth the slot or overrated?

ok real talk is the M15 Mod 0 worth a damn or not. it's an Assault Rifle and i'm tired of second-guessing every single run. just tell me.

This plus 'get your gear out and actually use it' is basically the whole game.
